I have found the sites listed below as being particularly useful in researching Lockwood Genealogy. Whereas I have not yet been able to link in my own tree, they have provided a wealth of other information about Lockwood families.

A. Lockwood Specific

1. Susan's Family Genalogy

A very large and attractive site for Lockwood information with hundreds of Lockwoods starting from Edmund and Robert Lockwood who emigrated to New England in 1630.This site was at http://home.att.net/~jg245/lkwd.htm but was discontinued in March 2010. However the Lockwood related pages of this site were transferred, with Susan's permission to this website. The relevant pages can be located here.

2. Robert Lockwood's Site

This also is a very extensive site with many pages of descendants of Roger De Lockwood (born about 1380). http://www.lockwoodfamily.com

3. The Hall-Sanson Family Home Page

1. Guild of One Name Studies

The Guild of One Name Studies is the international society for everyone interested in one name studies. The Guild has about 1,500 members worldwide and 6,000 registered surnames (including variants). http://www.one-name.org   

2. Society of Genealogists

The Society of Genealogists based at 14 Charterhouse Buildings, London is a charity whose objects are to "promote, encourage and foster the study, science and knowledge of genealogy". The library is the foremost in the British Isles with a huge collection of family histories, civil registration and census material, poll books and directories, armed services material, religious and peerage information.http://www.sog.org.uk/

4. Ancestry.com

A very useful site to do searches. Currently over 1,000 databases available for searching for a small fee. However, new databases are available for free. About 4-5 are added each day and are freely available for about 10 days so regular visits can be beneficial! http://www.ancestry.com

5. Family Tree Maker

Another active site which occasionally has a database available for free. Access is freely available to user's home pages. http://www.familytreemaker.com/users

6. Cyndi's List

The site on the web to search for genealogical information. With over 60,000 links listed, you should find something that is of interest. http://www.cyndislist.com

7. FamilySearch

This is the site of "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints" (The Mormons). You can search for details in Ancestral Files, International Genealogical Index and Pedigree Resource Web sites. http://www.familysearch.com/

 8. GEN UKI

A large site dedicated to UK & Ireland Genealogy. Many links to other UK & Irish related sites. http://www.genuki.org.uk/

 9. Rootsweb

Not a web site but an active mailing list for Lockwood information. Subscribe to "LOCKWOOD-L@rootsweb.com"

10. Websiteslink

A general site collating various links with a Lockwood theme. http://www.websiteslink.com/q/lockwood.htm

11. LostCousins

Just enter your ancestors and other relatives from the Canada 1881, British 1881 or US 1880 Census - then click the Search button!. http://www.lostcousins.com/

12. GenesReunited

A general site that has many family trees entered by users. http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/

13. Findagrave

This is a fast growing free site that has pictures of graves along with related family history information. As of August 2011 there are 66 million entries mostly for USA and UK with about a million new records being added each month. http://www.findagrave.com

14. Fulton History

A free site that has over 16,600,000 Old New York State Historical Newspaper Pages. http://www.fultonhistory.com
